Customer Questions & Answers
Q: So, you put the bird in the middle of the pie pan and then pour in the filling? So looks like a buntd? Lol! How do you remove it after baking? Em from Georgia
Basically, this is correct. You may remove it by hand. Please use thermal protection, e.g. mitten. Here you may read more about the proper use of pie birds: https://wearychef.com/recipe/easy-blueberry-pie-bird/ Andrew

Thank you for your suggestion! Andrew
Q: what is a pie bird? janet vervaecke from California
The hollow pie bird vents steam from the filling as it cooks, preventing the contents from boiling over. Arches on the bottom redirect excess moisture to keep the bottom crust from becoming soggy. The top crust will be held in place, and your oven will be free of spills.
